Experience

Project Engineer
Alcazar Energy Partners
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
I'm part of a technical excellence team based in Dubai, engaged with projects in emerging countries in Eastern Europe (Balkans), Middle East and North Africa (META). Hybrid role between resource analysis and conceptual, basic and detailed engineering, as well as supporting the committee approval of projects and site visits during development, construction and operational stages. I lead energy resource assessments and environmental impacts of greenfield wind and solar projects. I manage tender and negotiation of major project contracts (TSA, BoP, OE), elaboration and review of project documentation to achieve financial closure. I participate in due diligences of greenfield and brownfield opportunities, projecting CAPEX and OPEX and technical parameters for financial models and providing technical support related to the development of projects in different stages of maturity.

Senior Specialist - Solar B2B
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
I was part of the Offering Engineering team in the Business to Business area, developing solutions to distributed generation and self-production solar plants. I performed valuation analysis, manage internal colleagues and third party companies, developed technical proposals and interacted with the commercial team (KAMs) and end-customers. I collaborated with process mapping, division of responsabilities between departments and people. I covered for my boss in timely situations, including projects and meetings. In parallel, I was responsible for evaluating new product opportunities to offer, as was the success case of self-production solar plants, in addition to BESS, O&M, etc. We advanced with the implementation of new business models to improve product competitiveness, such as Consortium and Equity partners, negotiation and revision of contracts and drafts. Additionally, I dedicated to envision new business opportunities, seek improvement opportunities, process optimizations, bring past experiences to the department, etc.

Specialist Engineer - Wind COE
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
I was part of the Wind Center of Excellence and the Engineering sector in EGP, as part of the LATAM team with interactions with the global WCOE team. I had the role of focal point in power curve tests, hybrid wind+solar+BESS projects and one of the projects in internal approval. I undertook the "as-built" wind resource assessment of the largest wind farm in Latin America, Lagoa dos Ventos I-III (1,1GW), being Lagoa dos Ventos V (400MW) under construction. I lead analysis of wind projects in every stage of development with Openwind, I liaised with turbine suppliers and contributed towards internal approvals of projects. In parallel, I was the main responsible for managing the power curve test contracts in Brazil, with an approximate budget of 6 million USD for 5 wind farms running in parallel. I followed the projects in construction and commissioning stage in Brazil and LATAM, interfacing with turbine suppliers, external consultants, O&M and global teams. All delivered projects respected the allocated CAPEX of each project, with savings on some projects.

Resource Assessment/Business Development Analyst - Mid
Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil
I was part of the business development sector, leading technical and regulatory analysis necessary to advance the different stages of the projects. I lead the technical development of the pipeline of approximately 1,5GW in wind and solar projects. I collaborated with other sectors to obtain the technical qualification for auctions, permits, grants and other requirements for the projects. We achieved the final internal approval for construction of a 180MW wind farm of more than 200 million USD. I developed layouts and energy yield assessments of greenfield wind and solar energy projects in Brazil, using WindPRO and PVSyst. I analysed the technical aspects of M&A opportunities in our sector, evaluated new opportunities such as offshore and near-shore wind, participated in due dilligences of greenfield and brownfield projects and gave support to the financial model. I performed constrained off calculations to quantify the restricted energy in operational wind farms. I provided technical support related to the wind resource and P50, P75, P90 calculations to other departments. Additionally, I worked with purchase and payment requests on SAP, elaboration and management of our area budget, elaboration and revision of contracts to our sector. I also briefly analysed the data from 40 AMA wind masts and 3 solar measurements stations, interfacing with EPE to send data on the AMA system every 15 days, solving questions and pendencies, and I coordinated the maintenance of the wind masts and solar stations with third-party contractors, with support from the O&M and SHEQ team.

Wind Resource Engineer
Porto Alegre
I performed wind resource analysis and energy production certification on Brazilian multi-MW wind energy projects. I have simulated approximately 20GW and used wind data from approximately 150 different wind masts for projects in different states in Brazil, from an independent certifier a point of view. I undertook wind data analysis: quality and filtering, vertical extrapolation, MCP and long term analysis with Windographer. Then I completed the wind energy assessments with the micrositing and energy production estimation (P50 and P90) with WAsP and Windfarmer. Finally, I delievered spreadsheets and reports describing the results of such analysis, whose customers ranged from engineering companies, to govermental agencies, investors and banks. Additionally, I worked with georeferenced height contours, roughness lengths, monitoring of operating wind farms, programming in MATLAB, terrain polygons and CAD, WindPRO, time and project management with Artia, in person and remote working.

Engineer/Associate
RNW Soluções Renováveis
Porto Alegre
Entrepreneur experience with three associates to found a start-up renewable energy consulting company, focused on solar energy projects. I focused on engineering plus financial analysis including cash flows, IRR, CAPEX, LCOE, etc. We discontinued the start-up project in 2019. I developed the project of a 3.3 kW rooftop PV system in Porto Alegre, using Radiasol, SAM and PVSyst. Afterwards I have participated in other 5 DG projects. I worked with proposal writing, design, permits and approvals, supervision of the installation, monthly energy production monitoring.

Project Engineer
JPPA Gerenciamento e Projetos Ltda
Porto Alegre - RS
I was responsible for wind energy assessment on potential sites on WAsP and the conception, feasibility study, management and design of solar photovoltaic distributed generation projects. We had success in starting the renewable energy sector in the company and securing the first solar energy project of the company in Brazil at the rooftop of a hospital in Porto Alegre. I delivered technical reports, basic system designs, presentations to clients, technical visits, BOM, liaising with contractors and suppliers. I worked with wind and solar radiation data analysys, system sizing and layout, compliance with standards. The work environment was a newly created company sector of 4 employees, working to approve conceptual projects despite the national economic crisis in Brazil. We engaged with different sectors at an engineering office with around 50 employees and had video conferences with engineers working on similar projects in Colombia at HMV Ingenieros, which recently acquired JPPA. *Observation: JPPA is now part of HMV Engenharia e Consultoria Ltda

Scholarship Researcher
Porto Alegre - RS
Awarded a scholarship as part of a university research project, running Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations related to wind energy assessment on terrains with complex topography with ANSYS CFD.
