Worked as a Junior Research Assistant/Research Scholar in the Medical Genetics Research Laboratory (MGRL), Department of Biotechnology, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. During this timeframe, I conducted research on my project titled “Confirmation of a Rare Carbohydrate Metabolic Disorder through Next Generation Sequencing Technology. The skills i gained during this time period are Proficiency in Molecular Techniques, DNA and RNA extraction, Purification, Elution, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, Gel Documentation, Spectrophotometry, Centrifugation and Pipetting, Quantification of DNA, DNA sequencing analysis, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Proficiency in Dry Lab Skills, ExAC Browser, Primer Designing, Polyphene-2, OMIM, HGMD (Human Genome Mutation Database), BLAST, Primer 3, Oligo Calculator, DNA and Protein Sequence Alignments and Multiple Alignment, Proficiency in Data analysis (SPSS), Excel, Proficiency in Microsoft office i.e Word, Power point, Excel and Access.

Worked as a Research Intern in the World Health Organization Regional Reference Labs of the Virology Department and Molecular Biology Lab (MBL) at National Institute of Health, Islamabad, Pakistan. Isolation of polio virus from stool and sewage sample, cell culturing of polio virus, Microscopy, RNA extraction, PCR, Gel electrophoresis and Sanger sequencing of polio virus are some of the techniques which i performed and learned during this period
