About

I am a dedicated leader with a deep understanding of technology and a strong drive for value creation. Driven by my passion for personalized healthcare, I am committed to advancing sweat sensing, OCT technology, and wearable compression treatment for lymphedema. With a background in Materials Science, I have devoted 24 years to Philips, supporting various product divisions, including televisions, shavers, lighting applications, and semiconductors. My early career focused on improving production processes and products, laying a solid foundation for my transition to medical devices in 2009. In 2011, I transitioned to a leadership role, while still working on medical wearables, I became Test Manager within the Philips Light & Health Venture. In this role, I was responsible for defining, implementing, and executing the test and verification components of the venture's Quality Management System, while also providing advice to key stakeholders. Following this, I took on the leadership of a value stream in Philips Research, concentrating on Connected Medical Wearables. My team and I conducted research activities for the Philips Connected Sensing Venture, developing test devices, algorithms, and conducting clinical trials for the Philips Biosensor (BX100). Simultaneously, I lead Philips Research activities at the Holst Centre. Responsibilities included gathering input from Research Program Managers, defining and tracking program progress, driving improvements, and coordinating meetings between Holst Centre and Philips Research management, culminating in the development of Healthdot. From 2019 to 2023, I managed the Interoperability Standardization program at Philips Research, focusing on Healthcare Information Technology. In collaboration with Philips IP&S I drove the development of technical standards in healthcare and interoperability, representing Philips in external standardization organizations such as HL7. Throughout my career, I have held various positions, a.o. Technical Lead, Senior Researcher, Product Owner, Project Manager, Test Manager, Team lead and Research Program Manager. These have given me a comprehensive understanding of both technical and managerial aspects, allowing me to lead projects effectively and maximize team potential while prioritizing customer needs. Currently I am bringing innovations to the market that are crucial for customizing treatment plans, paving the way for truly personalized medical care.
