In my research at Kiel University, the German Institute for Economic Research, and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), I gained more than ten years of experience in modeling and policy analysis in the field of sustainable energy. I conceptualize, organize and carry out a wide range of related projects. These activities supported the development of my wide network with researchers from various universities and research institutions in Europe. I am strongly motivated by the societal opportunities unlocked by the transition to renewable energy based energy provision. Therefore, my research interest is focused on aspects that promote or hinder RES diffusion including cost developments of energy and enabling technologies such as storage availability, regulatory frameworks for energy markets and infrastructure as well as renewable energy support options. For the investigation of these issues, I apply and develop numerical economic models on the basis of my strong background in theoretical, empirical and macroeconomic methods.
