Als stellvertretender Vorstandsvorsitzender und Finanzvorstand der EnBW gestalte ich gemeinsam mit unseren rund 31.500 Mitarbeiter*innen die Transformation eines der größten Energieunternehmen in Deutschland und Europa. Uns ist es gelungen, die EnBW auf einen guten Kurs hin zu einem modernen, nachhaltigen und innovativen Infrastrukturpartner zu bringen. Wir gehen aktiv voran und haben uns bis 2035 das Ziel gesetzt, klimaneutral zu werden. Nachhaltigkeit ist der Gradmesser aller unserer Aktivitäten. Ein wichtiges Element ist dabei die nachhaltige Finanzierung unseres Wachstums z.B. über grüne Anleihen. Ich bin davon überzeugt, dass wir nicht nur eine internationale Nachhaltigkeitsagenda brauchen, sondern dafür verbindliche, ehrgeizige und messbare Ziele setzen müssen. So halte es für besonders wichtig, dass wir bei Unternehmen globale Standards in der Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung etablieren. Sie müssen für Transparenz, Vergleichbarkeit und Verantwortung sorgen. Ich engagiere mich persönlich bei der Ausarbeitung eines gemeinsamen Klassifizierungssystems und bringe mein Wissen in Arbeitsgruppen für Sustainable Finance auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene ein.As Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of EnBW, I work alongside our 31,500 employees to shape the transformation of one of Germany and Europe’s largest energy companies. Together, we have succeeded in setting EnBW on a clear path to become a modern, sustainable and innovative infrastructure partner. Underpinned by the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2035, EnBW today places sustainability at the heart of all our activity and operations. An important element in this is the sustainable financing of our growth, e.g. via green bonds. I am convinced that we not only need an international sustainability agenda, but that setting binding, ambitious and measurable targets is key to implementing it. For example, I think it is crucial to establish global standards for sustainability reporting. For their part, companies must work towards the implementation of transparent, comparable and responsible reporting standards. I am personally involved in the development of a common classification system and belong to sustainable finance working groups at both national and international level.
