I'm Teague, an American businessman, entrepreneur, investor, inventor, and philanthropist. I am the founder and CEO of EnergyX, a sustainable energy company focused on lithium extraction, separation, recovery, and refinery technology, as well as solid-state battery storage. Some facts about me: ⚡Prior to EnergyX, I founded Innovation Factory, a seed-stage venture capital fund with over 25 portfolio investments across real estate, life sciences, technology, and hospitality. My first successful business, at age 21, was a record label that released Sammy Adams' debut album Boston’s Boy, which reached #1 on the iTunes hip-hop charts. ⚡Philanthropy is also very important to me. Most of my initiatives are associated with my close friend, Tom Smith, a gentleman who has been paralyzed 3 times in his life, and the Thomas E. Smith Foundation. We created Dance For Paralysis, The Reality Ride Challenge, and The Kindness Project. In terms of education, I graduated in economics and entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and went on to complete the Executive Program in exponential technology, including artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, and nanotechnology at Singularity University. EnergyX is an energy technology company with a mission to become a leader in the global, renewable energy transition. Based on our 10-year Master Plan released in 2019, we are initially focused on lithium extraction, refinery, and production technology, and subsequently next-generation battery technology. The company’s goal is to develop technology and assets that turn it into one of the premier, low-cost lithium providers for the growing lithium-ion battery industry. From 2019-2022, EnergyX developed a world class direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology platform call GET-LiT, and subsequently deployed its first in-field pilot plant in the Lithium Triangle of South America. In 2023, EnergyX acquired its first lithium resource, a 100,000+ acre asset in Chile. As the electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage revolution is generating high demand for lithium, most forecasts suggest an orders-of-magnitude demand increase. As the EV market rapidly expands, millions of large-scale battery packs will be in demand. The monthly production of EV’s has already surpassed 1,000,000 per month. For an average EV, it needs 70-80 kilograms of lithium, this equates $1,500/car if the price of the lithium is $20,000 per ton (most long term forecasts). EnergyX will become the global lithium leader in due course, and expand into other battery materials and battery technologies as well.
