Deberly Primetal, formerly Manu-Metal before I acquired it in February 2016, was an Industrial piping and welding manufacturer specialising in supply of speciality stainless steel metal piping for water treatment plants and large factories. The company employed a specialist team of Boilermakers, Pipefitters, & Locksmiths welders. As General Manager, I was responsible for all daily company operations.

SWM is a leading US manufacturer of composites, fibres & yarn, film, netting, nonwovens, specialty paper and tubing. The company does business in over 90 countries and employs approximately 3,000 people worldwide, with operations in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, Spain, Luxembourg, Brazil, Canada, Poland and China, including two joint ventures. As Senior Manager of International Product Development for our Fine Paper division, I led a team of Product Development Specialists based in France, Poland & the US. I was responsible for leading all Product Development, Program Management and Customer Service across the entire organisation for my product category. During my time in this role, I worked mainly on one long-term special project. This involved sourcing a new higher quality and cheaper raw material, critical to our speciality paper making process. Within 18 months, I had successfully completed this project, saving the company over EUR 1m per year.

As Technical Director, Paper operations South East Asia I managed the paper mill operations in the Philippines, leading a team of 200 people I deployed a plan to optimize the production line for an output of 8500T/y and waste reduction by 15%. A cost savings program has been implemented as well, achieving 12% production cost reduction in 18 months, focusing mainly on energy (electricity and steam) and machine efficiency (speed, ROO) In 2012 I hired locally 1 production manager and 1 maintenance manager as my successors to the position.

As Manager Product Development and Technical, South-East Asia, reporting to the SEA Operations Manager I had set-up product development and customer technical services organization accross South-East Asia operations, leading a team of 6 people and working for both Philippines and Indonesia facilities serving clients in 14 countries. In 2011 I was also named responsible for Process Engineeering and Quality Control departments in preparation for my next assignment as Technical Director Paper Operations, South East Asia

As Technical Product Director I was leading product development and technical services teams accross the 3 units in France, reporting to the Corporate R&D Director My first objective was to consolidate best practices, streamlining organization and KPI's for the 3 facilities producing 80000T/y of paper and serving 120 clients worldwide. I successfully set-up ground for the deployement of the new ERP system in France. During the year 2007/2008 I also finalized the sourcing of 5000T of base paper from our Brazilian operations to support the demand growth of converted papers from European customers. With a strong experience in cross-functional projects the Company CEO offered me to move to our recently acquired facility in Manila-Philippines and set up the SWM South East Asia R&D structure, which I accepted.

As product development engineer and customer technical services I was conducting a team of 3 people dealing with product development and qualification at customers worldwide I was also in charge of incoming materials quality control process The successful development of a new range of porous papers for cigarette filters - gaining 75% of the EU market share - led to my promotion as Director Product Development.

As Field Application Engineer, directly reporting to the GM, I was responsible for the development of lubricant formulas for automotive and industrial applications. This work was mostly done in cooperation with additives branches of major international oil companies. I also tied relationship with the Ligier Formula1 team based on technical partnership and we finally got our company logo sticker on the team race cars for free.
