About
Spencer Jones, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, began working as a photographer in New York City, after attending Randolph College in Asheboro, North Carolina. Spencer has been a commercial still life photographer and active stock photographer for over 15 years. Spencer honed his skills assisting such luminaries as Robert Mapplethorp and Annie Leibovitz in the 1980’s. Since striking out on his own in 1992, he has shot for various magazines and corporations, including L’Oreal, FedEx, American Express, and Tag Heuer. Editorially, Spencer’s work has spanned a wide range of magazines, including Marie Claire, InStyle and Harper’s Bazaar, as well as Field and Stream and New York Times Magazine. Recently, Spencer shot the cover for Time magazine’s prestigious “Person of the Year” issue. Spencer is a major contributor to various stock photo agencies worldwide, including Getty Images, Photolibrary, StockFood as well as Glasshouse Images, where he is the founder and principal. Currently, Spencer divides his time between his commercial photography career and managing Glasshouse Images.

Spencer Jones has been a commercial still life photographer for over fifteen years. He has shot for various corporations, including Sony, FedEx, Movado, Clairol and Mayor’s. He has shot for magazines, including Cosmopolitan, Bloomberg, Glamour, National Geographic Adventure, and Newsweek. Recently, Spencer shot the cover for Time Magazine's prestigious "Person of the Year" issue and the recent "The Real Meaning of Patriotism" issue. He has also exhibited his photography at the Nikon House, The Kodak Gallery, The Tisch Gallery, and was highlighted in the book "The Best of Photography" and featured in Nikon World Magazine.
