FabexCo is an integrated engineering services firm and contract manufacturer of thermoplastics serving various industries. As the director of technology, I report to the company owners and focus on technology strategy and execution related to digital transformation. I provide technical guidance to the company related to product development, governance, and capital projects and manage the digital engineering function supporting customers in various industries. Highlights: 1. Managing program direction, priority, and P&L responsibility for R&D, digital engineering, and capital projects portfolios 2. Successfully developed and implemented advanced simulation-driven design processes that yielded a 75% reduction in cost and accelerated polymer extrusion tooling development, enabling new business capture 3. Led the preliminary design and construction of production plants enabling double-digit growth for the company. My involvement included process design, generating technical SOWs, equipment selection, and determining project phasing plans, EVM, and schedules. As the focal for the strategic configurations team, I oversaw analysis related to the development of new aircraft within the strategic configuration team. In addition, my tasks included advancing innovation & IP capture ( 30+ patents granted), mentorship, supporting certification rulemaking committees, and flight test planning projects. Highlights: 1. Led the performance requirements team working on airplane-level performance, safety, and propulsion system requirements for the NMA and FSA programs 2. Led the development of a mission performance code used for the development of advanced designs 3. Supported certification analysis, development of advanced data visualization tools, and IP generation 4. Provided structured technical and professional development mentorship to colleagues 5. Won the 'Boeing Best Overall Innovation Award' for leading the development of the BBE/BBH airplane concept 6. Led the development of econometric methods and software to monitor trends in commercial aircraft utilization, used to inform product strategy scoping projects 7. Provided aircraft performance analysis for various failure hazard studies to support discussions with EASA, FAA, and CAAC regarding certification of 737MAX and 777X aircraft 8. Conducted performance analysis to quantify high-speed, takeoff, and landing performance, and aeroacoustics for customer-specific configurations of the 747, 767, 777, 787, 777X, and 737MAX airplane families

I ran a variety of aerodynamic analysis, design, and wind tunnel testing projects related to the integration of engine packages with different aircraft. I also had project integration tasks involving multiple stakeholders across aircraft programs to ensure the safety and airworthiness of designs. Highlights: 1. Led the multi-objective aerodynamic optimization for the advanced 777-8X/9X natural laminar flow nacelle using CFD, including integration with structures, inlet, thrust reverser, and nozzle design IPTs 2. Wind tunnel testing focal for high-speed (BTWT-1) and low-speed (QineitQ-1) testing of the 777X nacelles 3. Conducted propulsion package aerodynamic predictions for new airplane concepts (NAS/NLT/MOM/NMA) 4. As a member of the 787 Dreamliner recovery team, my work led to breakthroughs in the RTS process - findings were included in the final report to the Boeing Board of Directors in 2013 5. Developed an automated process for evaluating the effects of cross-wind on inlet distortion indices using ANSYS Fluent and CFX

Assigned for 3 months to the 737 MAX program in the early days to support several projects reducing risks for the program. Led configuration management tasks and coordinated airplane-level structural and loads changes between the program and tier-1 suppliers, as well as various engineering and sales teams at Boeing. Highlights: 1. Participated in planning, preparation, and release of the primary configuration control document, CCD-1 for the 737 MAX family 2. Identified the sections of the airframe exposed to load increase and quantified the magnitudes 3. Issued statement of work memoranda to engage structural designers and loads analysts to assist in the coordination and scheduling for the loads certification process of the 737 MAX-8

Worked as the technology TPM within the Advanced Concepts group. My work statement included technology portfolio management, and participation in specialized design projects to evaluate the viability of advanced technologies, identify funding priorities, and issue recommendations for sourcing of digital tools and technologies to maximize ROIC for Boeing PD. Highlights: 1. Performed initial configuration design for several advanced concepts including low-noise and low-emission concepts, electric aircraft, and large sea-based cargo freighters 2. Contributed to a collaboration with Rolls-Royce on open-rotor engine noise reduction studies 3. Initiated and led exploratory studies with a team of aeroacoustics experts to identify new methods for reducing the community noise of contra-rotating open rotors 4. Collaborated with NASA on a joint study to evaluate various hybrid-electric airplane configurations 5. Led a series of studies to identify a preferred toolset for preliminary airplane design in an exploratory environment 6. Initiated contact with representatives of software and hardware vendors to explore potential integration of their products within existing IT infrastructure at Boeing 7. Participated in a study to explore alternative technologies for auxiliary power units (APU) in future commercial airplane concepts and computed potential NPV gains for operators in various scenarios 8. Performed early configuration management and coordinated the release of configuration description memorandum for an open-rotor-powered airplane 9. Led an internal Boeing study to evaluate design options for heat rejection of electric and hybrid-electric airplanes

Supported the 787 engineering program with analysis and project management activities. Simultaneously supported multiple projects related to configuration management, design tools, product roadmap studies, novel landing gear mechanisms, capital equipment decisions, avionics, and cabin humidity management studies. Highlights: 1. Verified the accuracy of in-development preliminary performance sizing tools via comparison with data from flight test of the 787-8 model 2. Participated in technical and market studies eventually leading to the launch of the 787-10 3. Led a trade study to quantify the configuration impacts of various semi-levered gear mechanisms 4. Contributed to the finalization of the configuration management memorandum for the 787-9 model prior to the firm configuration milestone 5. Oversaw a large simulation study of the effects of humidity and condensation on the functionality of the electric hardware and passenger electronics

As a configuration design engineer, I worked on the preliminary design team supporting product development projects related to the new small airplane studies under project Y-1. I worked on the high-tech aircraft options - dealing with open rotor engine integration issues, as well as regular configuration management and administrative tasks for other product development projects. Highlights: 1. Performed early configuration design work on a family of new narrow-body commercial airplanes to replace the Boeing 737 family 2. Generated geometry, stability and control, and performance data for various installations of an open rotor engine 3. Performed preliminary performance sizing for a series of New Small Airplane (NSA) concepts under project Y1 4. Generated and released configuration management memoranda for new aircraft concepts 5. Supported technology evaluation and road mapping projects involving tools & methods, electrification, and advanced materials

My role involved building and managing large databases of building drawings, performing as-built surveys, and participating in delivery inspections for capital projects on various USC campuses. I also led an exploratory project implementing an early integrated building information model (BIM) for the George Lucas Instructional Building.
