Shiivek Agarwal
Intern @ BJ's Wholesale Club
About
I am a Computer Science and Robotics Engineering graduate from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. My academic and professional journey has focused on software, robotics, and automation: applying AI, embedded systems, and data-driven approaches to solve complex real-world challenges. Most recently, as a Robotics & Automation Intern at BJ’s Wholesale Club, I designed scalable automation deployment frameworks, implemented a real-time dashboard across distribution centers, and led a logistics optimization project projected to save $3.2M–$5.2M annually using Robotic Automation solutions. For my Major Qualifying Project (MQP), I worked with a team to advance Finley, a toddler-sized humanoid robot. We focused on modular hardware design, real-time inverse kinematics, and AI-based perception to enable naturalistic human-robot interaction. This work strengthened my expertise in robotics integration, and systems engineering. I also conducted research on assistive technologies through the EREE Research Fellowship, where I worked with machine learning algorithms and multi-language keyword spotting to detect falls using real-time sensor data. Skilled in C++, Python, MATLAB, ROS, SQL, and embedded systems development, I am eager to pursue opportunities in Embedded Software, Software Engineering, and Robotics/Automation, contributing to innovative solutions that drive meaningful impact.
