My Thesis: "Inspiring the Educational Journey" Supporting Multiple Intelligences: Researched the ways in which interior design plays an important role in the educational environment by creating a sense of well-being, challenging the expected, and supporting the idea that learning is a journey of exploration and discovery. My visual defense conceptual experience. I designed and built a 30 foot labyrinth in a "Blackbox Theater". Musical intelligence: Rhythmic pattern of the labyrith itself, musical instuments: bells, flutes, and drums provided interactive connection. Spatial Learner: Volume as proportional to its inhabitant. Various sized bowls with standard paperclip interpret this theory. "Looking beyond" "framing" the view, light reflection and the built environment supports this learner. Bodily/kinetic: Movement of the labyrinth itself. Visual movement was created with airflow, diagonal line "ribbons" & Haptic opportunities complete the total embodiment of the labyrinth.
