Supported transition of Ventus software properties to Arch Insurance, including a lot of integration engineering with existing Arch systems. Continued to design, build, and improve VIKI features to create the most efficient underwriting system available.

Lead Software Engineer @ Ventus Risk Insurance

Designed and built the entire Ventus Risk tech stack from the ground up, along with the rest of the small development team from Math and Pencil. Specifically, designed the high-level architecture and implemented much of the key functionality for VIKI, the Ventus underwriting platform, including: seamless automated integration with AIR Touchstone, a full AOP pricing model, data entry spreadsheet import/export, account transactions and endorsements, and Bordereau generation. Worked closely with the founders and Chief Underwriting Officer to implement complex pricing and accounting algorithms.

KC-135 Technical Lead: Directly responsible for all enhancements for largest client, managing a team of four developers in the design and delivery of new modules and maintenance of existing modules. Performance Team Lead: Led a major performance improvement effort for a C#/ASP.NET .mil website. Set up test environment, built a comprehensive evaluation benchmark, and led classes on programming for performance. Rebuilt several major areas of site to meet user expectation and performance benchmarks. System performance improved by several orders of magnitude. Infrastructure Lead - Single Integrated Air Picture

Joined and later took over technical leadership of the JSSEO Architecture model compiler team. Invented, designed, and implemented the JSSEO Plugin Framework, which replaced the majority of the IABM’s underlying C++ architecture with a more flexible and clearly-defined foundation. Improved outside visibility, access, and exposure to internal model compiler work through a Wiki site, a source repository, and working towards release as open source.

Sensor Domain Lead - Single Integrated Air Picture

Interpreted and reimplemented MATLAB-based sensor association algorithms in C++ for use as a test harness for the IABM.
