Worked on Energy Disaggregation methods of smart meter data to improve the accuracy of the itemized energy bills. Researched and implemented various Deep Learning and Evolutionary Algorithms to predict energy consumption of various devices using smart meter data and device ratings, and to design personalized incentives to reduce energy consumption at peak hours. The challenge was to solve for complexity due to varying operating characteristics of each device and in handling huge loads of dynamic real time data. Implemented Fully Connected Network and LSTM Networks, and improved the Mean Absolute Error compared to Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring Tool kit model(NILMTK) by 8%.

Maximum Power Point Technique in Photo Voltaic(PV) Systems employing grid connected converter under Dr.Senthil Kumar : Proposed a system based on a 3-level clamped inverter that uses Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation and Synchronous Reference Frame Theory which provides independent control over active and reactive power injection into the grid, while simultaneously tracking the maximum power point of the PV array, with Total Harmonic distortion of grid current of 4.86%, under IEEE 519 standards.
