Samar Ranjit

Samar Ranjit is an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Texas State University focused on machine learning, deep learning, and data science. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, he is currently working on developing ML/DL models on large-scale agricultural and environmental datasets, working extensively with Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch. His work involves geospatial data processing, feature engineering, model training and evaluation, and spatial analysis using GIS tools such as ArcGIS, remote sensing data, and raster-based workflows. Alongside his research background, he has full-stack development experience with React, the MERN stack, and TypeScript, enabling him to build end-to-end, data-driven applications. Besides his current role, Samar has served as an Undergraduate Instructional Assistant, where he strengthened his leadership, communication, and mentorship skills by supporting student learning. He has also previously held leadership roles with the Leo Club of Kathmandu Creative, leading digital initiatives and contributing to numerous community service events. With a strong creative foundation in graphic and motion design, he brings both technical depth and visual communication skills to his projects. Samar is actively seeking internships and research opportunities in AI, machine learning, and deep learning, where he can apply his skills in real-world problem solving while continuing to grow as an engineer and researcher.
