Research activities were carried out on the characterization of photocatalytic materials aimed for different environmental applications including hydrogen production and water remediation. Research assistant at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi. Project title: Microwave Assisted Extraction of Total Phenolics from Two Native UAE Plants and Evaluation of their Antioxidant Activity, supervisor: Dr. Lina F. Yousef. Research activities were carried out on the use of microwave assisted extraction to recover phenolics from two halophytes, Arthrocnemum macrostachyum and Tetraena mandavillei.

Teaching assistant at the American University of Sharjah, Sharjah. Teaching activities were carried out in undergraduate level courses at the Department of Chemical Engineering.

A 6 weeks intensive training program. Technical sessions focused on different process design aspects such as process equipment selection, block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, pump hydraulics, heat exchanger design, and HAZOP. Interactive sessions focused on developing soft skills such as time management and communication.

Thesis title: “Photocatalytic Materials for Environmental Applications: CO2 conversion and VOC degradation”. Research activities were developed on innovative processes for the conversion of CO2 and degradation of VOCs through heterogeneous photocatalysis, carried out at the Chemical Engineering Department of Khalifa University
