-doing a 23 week research project in the lab of Prof. Douglas Higgs, FRS, FMedsci -investigating the relationship between DNA replication and maintenance of epigenetic memory in red blood cell differentiation -techniques: molecular cloning, next generation sequencing, CUT&RUN, FACS, bioinformatics

-shadowed patent lawyers and gained a comprehensive overview of what a career in intellectual property law entails -participated in mock oral proceedings before the EPO, where we had to challenge the novelty and inventive step in a competitor's claim -took part in claim drafting exercises -performed literature searches

1st year modules: Biological Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics, Molecular and Cellular Biology 2nd and 3rd year modules: Molecular Biology & Genetics, Structure & Function of Macromolecules, Bioenergetics & Metabolism, Cellular Biology, Data Analysis and Interpretation 4th year: research project at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine in the lab of Prof. Douglas Higgs FRS, FMedsci
