As a Human Resources Student at Dometic, I got hands-on experience across recruitment and onboarding in a fast-paced, unionized environment. From being a key point of contact for candidates to helping ensure a smooth onboarding experience, I was involved in making the hiring process run seamlessly. I also supported employee investigations, where I learned how to navigate sensitive situations with attention to detail and professionalism. This role really strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities at once.

As Director of Youth Volunteers, I led a team of coordinators and worked on developing anti-bullying programs for students. I was involved in shaping and refining workshop content to make it more engaging and relevant for different audiences. This role gave me the chance to collaborate closely with others on meaningful initiatives while strengthening my leadership and communication skills.

As a People Operations Assistant at Acturis Canada, I dived into all things HR- from orchestrating seamless recruitment processes to crunching numbers for budgets and planning unforgettable employee events. Along the way, I sharpened my communication, time management, and Excel skills while mastering the art of quick thinking and attention to detail.

I spearheaded a diversity, equity, and inclusion project by developing a proposal to initiate the hiring of persons with disabilities in field roles, contributing to more inclusive workforce practices. I also gained broad exposure to HR strategy and operations by shadowing the Head of HR across multiple departments, building a strong understanding of how different functions collaborate within a large organization.

During my internship at Deloitte, I worked on reviewing financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance, which really strengthened my attention to detail. I also had the opportunity to train other interns, helping them get up to speed and making sure work was completed efficiently. Working in a structured, deadline-driven environment taught me how to manage my time effectively while maintaining a high standard of work.

I managed and guided a diverse group of 30 first-year students through their transition to university, providing support and ensuring a positive onboarding experience. I organized and delivered engagement activities to foster community and student connection, and communicated university policies and resources to help students successfully navigate their academic and social environments.

Working at Tim Hortons meant learning how to think on my feet in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. From handling back-to-back customer interactions to keeping things running smoothly during peak hours, I developed strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure. It’s where I really built my resilience and learned how to connect with people quickly and effectively.

Shadowed Dr. Sameer Malhotra (Head of the Psychiatry department) and Dr. Danish Ahmed and observed patients in personal sessions as well as the OPD under them. I also had academic sessions with the clinical psychologist, Ms. Rashi Sahai, which helped add to my knowledge about psychology, in particular, mental disorders.

I started at REUSE Orbis as a volunteer and eventually grew into leading the Delhi NCR unit, where I took on a more active role in driving our initiatives around electronic waste and sustainability. From organizing awareness campaigns to recruiting volunteers through social media outreach, I was involved in expanding both our team and our impact. I also built partnerships with other organizations, helping us reach a wider audience and strengthen community engagement.
