I began my career as a military judge advocate, serving as a prosecutor, later as a defense counsel, chief of prosecutors, and then general counsel to increasingly larger and more complex organizations. During the first 30 years of my career I also enjoyed 4 years as an assistant professor of law (international and intelligence law) and two years an executive trainer for the military’s most senior 2, 3, and 4 star leaders. After my nearly 30 year active duty military culminated as a Army judge advocate colonel, I began a new career as a senior leader within the larger Department of Defense as an oversight authority. In my current position, I lead a highly capable worldwide organization that is chartered to oversee, protect, manage, and solve complex problems in regard to our nation’s most sensitive and critically important activities and capabilities.
