Drive operational efficiencies in the laboratory management through effective CAPEX & OPEX, equipment & inventory and systems management (qualification, maintenance, calibration, quality & safety). Provide effective forecasting of annual operating (OPEX) and capital (CAPEX) budgetary requirement for laboratory, based on the current and future pipeline of product/technology initiatives and the timing of those initiatives balancing effectiveness and risks. 9. Serve as Laboratory Safety/EHS Coordinator: Develop and maintain environmental, health and safety policies and program for the function. Ensure laboratory staff strictly adhere to the safety measures and undergo trainings (as an on-going activity) to increase the awareness.

Serve as the single point of contact for most of Existing Business Support and Rainbow Programme (GM improvement, capacity enhancement, cost savings and complexity reduction). 5. Significantly leverage open innovation & external networks for higher productivity, faster turnaround times and lower costs. Develop domestic outsourcing labs and bring them up to GSK standards by engaging in proficiency tests, inter-laboratory comparisons and periodic performance feedbacks. 6. Closely work with GSK site quality on factory-related activities and help them implement method updates, alternate methods, develop their capabilities and share best practices. 7. Successfully lead GSKCH R&D’s “stability outsourcing” initiative by working closely with the outsourcing partners to bring them up to GSK standards. 8. Formulate a focused development plan for team to achieve matrix work culture, personal effectiveness, equal opportunities and better alignment to team/organization goals. 9. 1. Involve in the product development cycle of various nutritional & OTC products. The work entailed development of various analytical methods to substantiate various claims. 2. Drive operational efficiencies through key functional activities management/effective outsourcing strategy and support Rainbow programme. 3. Drive operational efficiencies in the analytical processes & laboratory management and achieve best productivity through effective opex, inventory & resource management. 4. Develop domestic outsourcing labs for faster achievement of deliverables and reduction in the cost of analysis. 5. Ensure timely project execution and results delivery while ensuring highest data quality and cost-efficiency.

(1) Preparation, characterization and modification of polymer and polymer supported complexes for use as catalysts in various organic and inorganic transformations, with special interest in decontamination of chemical warfare agents and water purification. Flow Chemistry was extensively used to study various heterogeneous reactions involving these catalysts in order to understand its merits over conventional batch chemistry. (2) Development of new strategies for transition metal-catalyzed asymmetric dihydroxylation of olefins using environmentally benign oxidants.

Development of commercially viable catalysts capable of catalyzing important stereospecific transformations under very mild conditions. The research involved synthesis and characterization of large organic molecules to engender metal centers with the same characteristics as found in biological systems. Kinetic methods were used to probe the mechanism of catalytic reactions involving these synthetic models to gain insight into the complex enzymatic processes.

Masters Research: Comparison of efficiency of heme and non-heme catalytic systems in executing oxidation of organometallic compounds using hydrogen peroxide. The research involved preparation of various inorganic and bio-inorganic catalysts designed to selectively catalyze metal carbon bond oxidation. Extensive kinetic studies were performed to delineate the order of efficiency of these catalysts in executing oxidation of various substrates.
