This is more of a passion project. I don’t make a lot off the proceeds, but cover my time to benefit the community as a whole. • Rotating Supervisor: Served as leadership while transitioning home for covid of 2020. Worked with new web-hosting teams to complete their training & improving KPI’s each month & keeping over 100% to goal after a two-month ramp up. • Leadership Development Program: Served as a supervisor for all departments during this time. Training as an LDP’s has given me the opportunity to rise to a new supervisory level. Taking escalated calls and providing advanced tech support for all guides on the floor. • Vision & Planning: Direct all tasks to the board and staff for daily business, and future budgetary & alethic planning (park signing, facility colors, design, and placement of amenities) for the future of the department. • Reporting: Annual & Monthly Departmental Reports, Strategic Planning, Land Management, Risk Management Reviews, Social Outreach, & quarterly New Newsletters. • Financial Administration of $1,167,646.00 in County Budget and over $50,000 of foundation funds for the FY2016. Built a new 48”x96” maintenance shop, many nature Center and exterior interpretive displays, Solar Panels, multiple cabins, trails, upgrading all high cost department equipment, & acquisition of land direction and management. • Coordinated the process of building, and developing nature center displays and outdoor classroom for a new undeveloped nature center, through outside contractors and staff support. • Administered the tasks for six full-time, seven part-time, 100 plus Ameri-Corp volunteers annually, and over 150 volunteers annually that require maintaining multiple MOA’s with these user groups (equestrian trails, disc golf, multi- use trails, archery, Geo-Caching, River-rats, and mountain biking.) • Duties: Patrol assigned parks via foot, bicycle, ATV, boat, and patrol vehicle to protect natural resources and provide a safe environment for patrons. Issue code or parking citations for violations under county ordinance 06-26 and defend when applicable in a court of law. Rely on law enforcement officials when situations exceed ranger scope of duties. Provide assistance /information to patrons as requested in all parks, beaches and preserves. • Expanded Duties: Created & maintained a database that tracked contact number database for the ranger unit. Issued quarterly & annual reports for ranger supervisors from this database. Maintained ranger bicycles for the unit. • Created FGCU Outdoors: Serving 10,000 the first fiscal year. Staffing (two full-time) (20 part-time), created website, beach amenities, & maintenance plan. Over 1300 participants use the beach per month. Over $400,000 was spent to build the waterfront, 18 hole disc golf course, outdoor pursuits & motorized water sports program in two years. Facility allowed for: Sailing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboats, rowing, water-trampoline, snorkeling, motorized water sports, beach games, disc golf, fishing, wind-surfing, rafts, challenge courses, green bike program, hiking trails & fitness classes. • Special Events Planned: Planned and operated over 20 large special events and weekly programming. Upper Iowa River, IA; Caving: Hunter Cave, MO; Ice Climbing: Green Bay, WI; Rock-Climbing: Devils Lake, WI; Backbone, IA. • Clinics: Taught kayak rolling, climbing, route setting, backcountry cooking, & foot care clinics, orienteering, and equipment inventory. • Instruction with Credit Courses: 100 level eco-tourism, canoeing, climbing, grant building, & backpacking classes. • Camp Adventure (June 99 – Aug 99)- Developed: the first outdoors guide for Camp Adventures Teen Trek in Okinawa, Japan - team building exercises; hiking; deep-sea fishing; kayaking; scuba; rappelling; camping; and tourism trips.

• Created: Served as the first statewide IDNR water and mountain bike trails liaison. Created a statewide network that coordinates with paddling clubs, mountain bike clubs, county conservation boards, volunteer groups, IOWATER & IMBA, to help ensure a statewide vision for the development of future trail resources. • Grant administration & creation: The Iowa Water Trails Grant Program, which I administered and created the material and processes that were passed via state regulation have been completed for many water trails across the state. Facilitated the development of policy standards with the IDNR, Iowa Whitewater Coalition & the paddling advisory board through regular meetings. Assisted in the development of the Friends of Iowa’s Rivers volunteer group and the Iowa Water Trails Task Force. • Legislation Research & Development: Lead the research that allowed for a successful restructuring of Iowa’s boater registration fees, Researched the regulation and programs nationwide with the IDNR’s NASBLA liaison. Assisted in the creation of legislative actions relating to user rights with the friends groups who support water and bike trails.

• Managed: $323,718 departmental budget, staffing 50 people seasonally and one full-time park superintendent. • Maintained & Coordinated: 11 parks totaling 200 acres, a 250,000-gallon aquatic center, 50 RV campground sites, trails and the new Williams Recreation Center; All Programming with Youth & adult sports- soccer, basketball, football, tennis, baseball, softball, volleyball & swimming. Special Events: Annual Dragonboat Races, 4th of July, 5K run, tours and clinics. • Programs Started: Triathlon, NFL Youth football, 3 Basketball and Ice Fishing tournaments & weekly teen dances. • Facilitated: The design & completion of the following projects: Oelwein Bike & pedestrian Trail, Oelwein Community Skate Park, The Oelwein Sports Complex (Soccer & Softball Fields) and The Williams Wellness Center’s (Fitness Center) 28E agreement completion to be run by a contracted entity for Parks and Recreation. • Grants: Wrote grants resulting in over $200,000 funding for community projects in city beautification, trails, skate park equipment, Co-Authored a $350,000 National School Fitness Foundation Grant which subsidized new weight room equipment for a new fitness center. • Community Outreach: Attended & managed up to 9 seperate community committee meetings. • Professional Development: Attended the Iowa Parks and Recreation State and Regional Conferences. Hosted a Regional Conference in my parks. Certified by the Iowa Agricultural Department as a Pesticide & Insecticide Sprayer. Certified by the National Swimming Pool Foundation as a Certified Pool Operator. Certified by Iowa High School Athletic Association as a Sports Referee.
