The role included being the Tornado fast jet Squadron focal point for all matters concerning: Quality and Continuous Improvement processes, Health and Safety; including risk assessment generation. Carrying out Flight Safety, Human Factors and Quality training. Writing Terms of Reference, Work Instructions and Squadron Engineering administrative orders. Overseeing the aircraft documentation cell, ensuring completed documentation is dealt with IAW current legislation and ensuring in-use documentation is to the correct revision standard. Update and disseminate Tornado plans for aircraft allocated to RAF Lossiemouth that demonstrate all future planned programs and their impact. Gathering and distributing accurate statistical data as required by Tornado Integrated Logistics Operations Centre (ILOC) RAF Marham and OC ELW RAF Lossiemouth to assist in strategic level planning. Ensure relevant parties are apprised of the impact of critical aircraft issues and amend planning to ensure Station/Squadron capability is maintained. In consultation with Squadron Engineering Officers, ensuring aircraft are prepared for operational deployments, detachments and maintenance programs.

Tasks undertaken included: Supervising the configuration and control of all aircraft engineering log cards for all aircraft at RAF Lossiemouth. The staffing of all technical instructions and modifications on receipt, informing the appropriate Squadron Trade Managers and Rectification Controllers to ensure work is carried out within the stipulated timescales. The preparation and issue of scheduled maintenance packs and checking F700s, work cards and job cards on completion. Ensuring the compilation and timely dispatch of monthly engineering stats returns. The management and supervision of the archives of engineering documentation.

A subject matter expert to management on complex or unorthodox avionic issues.
