Engaging in all manner of IP-related transactions including licensing, procurement, and sales, with a supporting role in IP litigation and monetization activities. Role includes negotiation and drafting of IP and general contractual provisions as well as advising on business related aspects of deals.

Served as General Counsel for a semiconductor startup and responsible for contract review and negotiation, regulatory compliance, intellectual property licensing and prosecution, corporate governance, and employment issues.

Managed Tencent’s patent litigation matters in lower and appellate level courts in the United States, Europe, South Korea, and Hong Kong, from case inception to trial and final appeal. Oversaw Tencent’s international patent portfolio management, licensing, and acquisition activities, including negotiation of cross-licenses and representation of Tencent in standard essential patent (SEP) pools . Additional non-IP matters include trade compliance and export controls, administrative law and regulatory challenges.

Intellectual property litigation and transactions for patents, trademarks, and copyright matters. Highlights include: Serving as second chair in patent trials and responsible for preparing and directing the examination of trial witnesses, conducting oral arguments and presentations at hearings, claim construction, and pretrial conferences, and appearing before the Federal Circuit on appellate matters. Handled matters before PTAB and other international tribunals Handled all facets of the litigation process, including: written discovery, depositions, motion practice, trial preparation, witness preparation, patent infringement and invalidity contentions (claim charts), expert reports, settlements and license agreements. Prepared and prosecuted patent and trademark applications in the U.S. and in international jurisdictions

Practice focused on patent litigation, legal research, briefs, fact discovery, and expert discovery. Additional work in pretrial and trial preparation as well as assisting in settlement negotiations and drafting of settlement and license agreements. Additional work preparing patent applications, trademark applications, intellectual property acquisition and enforcement.
