Orin Sommer

I’m a mechanical engineer focused on turning ideas into real, manufacturable products. My work spans the full product development process — from CAD design and rapid prototyping to testing and manufacturing. I enjoy solving practical problems, iterating quickly, and building reliable solutions that improve everyday life. Currently, I work as a Product Design Engineer at Not a Wheelchair, where I help design and manufacture affordable accessibility equipment that increases independence and mobility. I’m experienced in SolidWorks, Onshape, and Fusion 360, and thrive in collaborative, hands-on engineering environments. Outside of work, I continue designing and building personal projects, developing products for my online store, and exploring new ideas through 3D printing and DIY tech.
