I'm responsible for all broilers farms in the North region. I do planning, budgeting for Capex projects and manage and oversee every aspect of the broiler operations.

Conducting operational planning for future production. Managing the various farms to achieve production targets at the lowest possible cost. Ensuring operational planning, placements or depletions are completed and implemented by Agricultural Planning to ensure optimal production. Ensure the highest standard of fertile eggs, chicks and broilers are produced to optimise production efficiency. Correctly calculate and issue feed and water requirements to ensure that supply is sufficient to meet nutritional requirements. Manage the vaccination process to ensure immunisations and vaccinations are done in time and according to the RPM. Ensure the correct number of birds are transferred and depleted. Verified with Agricultural finance and planning. Analyze livestock growth performance and adjust farming practices to ensure performance delivers the right bird. Ensure the farms meet budgetary targets by working within agreed financial boundaries. Ensuring that daily flock data is captured accurately and promptly into the information system on a daily basis. Ensuring that daily/ weekly and monthly reports are comprehensive and submitted on time to enable effective decision-making and proactive trend analysis. Supervising the activities of the team to ensure production targets are met. Coaching and supporting team members where necessary to achieve individual, farm and strategic objectives. Apply all bio-security standards are in accordance with BOP and the RPM. Resolve daily maintenance and urgent maintenance issues in conjunction with the responsible maintenance personnel

I was managing a broiler (poultry) farm that houses 630 000 chicken per cycle of 35 days. In monetary terms it was just above R 10 million/cycle. I was supervising 7 supervisors and 43 general workers. Moreover, I was responsible for implementing OSHACT in the workplace and made sure that employees comply with company production standards and code of conduct respectively.
