IT Operations Business & Financial Analyst
Sunnyvale, CA
Initially brought on as a contractor to clean up highly inflated and outdated OPEX spend; due to outstanding performance, hire was expedited and new role focuses on auditing invoices with service orders and contracts, financial analysis; quarterly, monthly, and close reporting; network infrastructure OPEX spend tracking; forecasting; budget vs. actual variance analysis; and maintaining network inventory for cost savings. Regular PR/PO creation and management to ensure compliance and proper funding. Daily review / approval of vendor invoices and working with vendors on any pricing discrepancies. Monthly and quarterly meetings with Finance team to review current spend and provide amounts for accruals. • Recouped $75K MRC credit within two months of hire through detailed review of contract terms on a circuit that had encountered an outage. Discovered loophole in MSA verbiage that waived any financial liability on our behalf and convinced Account Manager to reimburse us for 3 months of MRC. • Awarded Network Team MVP Q3 2016 for contributions and leadership in preparing Network & Infrastructure spend report (2013-2016) for review by Verizon execs during acquisition. Selected by senior management to prepare urgent 4-year view of Network OPEX; compiled & delivered data to Vice President within 48 hours. Sifted through thousands of lines crossing multiple Cost Centers to parse out those charges/accounts pertaining to our Network Infrastructure. • Audit of our Contracts/MSAs/Service Orders, $5M monthly spend, within 2 months of hire, against our monthly invoices, our physical inventory and vendor listed inventory. I was able to reduce our annual spend by $2.4 million by eliminating outdated information on OPEX spend report and meeting review deadline of 2015 annual Forecast awaiting CFO approval. • Cost Savings Effort: Identified obsolete circuits in network OPEX inventory; worked with Network Engineers and vendors to disconnect them and realize $125K in monthly savings.

Telecom Analyst - Bank of America Account
Concord, CA
Project lead in reviewing, analyzing and tracking spend, contracts, and telecom inventory for all International and Domestic Telecom Invoices for Bank of America and Merrill Lynch accounts. Key contributor and SME in collecting documentation, finding errors and anomalies, negotiating settlements with telecom carriers, and presenting cost savings opportunities to clients. Key functions included Audit, Budget vs Actual Variance Analysis, Journal Entry Creation and Financial Analysis Reporting of Bank of America’s Telecom OPEX along with working closely with Network Engineers to review technical inventory, redundancies of services and identifying antiquated services. • Uncovered $220K in erroneous account charges from an archived disconnect order. Issued a claim with Bell Canada in reference to a circuit that should have been disconnected 3 years prior. After locating the archived acknowledgement received from the vendor on receipt of disconnect request, I was able to have Bell Canada waive the $220K balance on the account, finalize disconnect and close the account. • Generated $2.2 million end of year cost savings through detailed analysis of ISDN BRI circuit inventory. Identified locations upgraded to MPLS and assisted in having these outdated BRI circuits tested, issued disconnects, and monitored billing to ensure proper offbilling and credits received. • Instrumental member and involved with Bank’s M&A activity. Active team member on the M&A team to compile, track and create reports of the billable telecom inventory from each acquisition made by BofA. Trained new team members hired from each acquisition. Facilitated regular meetings and maintained the project calendar of milestones and duties leading up to acquisition date. • Single handedly compiled and tracked all contracts, service orders and invoices related to the Telecom inventory of Merrill Lynch International locations in preparation of budget assumption by Bank of America US Accounts Payable team.
