Hi, I'm Micol, Preclinical Team Leader with a wide spectrum of skills developed thanks to an extensive experience lab-based within the cardiovascular and renal field. My skills allow me to bridge in-vitro and in-vivo studies in the pre-clinical and early drug discovery phases. I have a proven track record as study director for pre-clinical studies focusing on general bio-distribution and CNS. Cell culture, primary cell culture, protein over-expression, silencing, and analysis are in-vitro skills with which I’m familiar on top of IHC, confocal and bright field, RNA/DNA analysis via qPCR and ddPCR. In terms of managerial skills, pre-clinical project management, vendors managements, Academic collaborations driver, and documents management (scope of work definition, reporting, risk mitigation and gap analysis) are skills that I have been able to develop co-leading cross-departmental core-teams. I curious and passionate, focused on delivering robust data packages in a fast moving and innovative environment. I am looking for supporting and improving the processes and bringing experience and troubleshooting capacity to minimize potential impacts on deliverables. I highly value the strength of multi-departmental teams and their richness, and I take seriously the opportunity to mentor and develop further Juniors members being able to understand the value of working with engaged, positive and curious colleagues feeling empowered to develop themselves. In my role as Research Associate, I have administered various research activities from in-vitro to in-vivo, RNA extraction and qPCR, proteins extraction, and western blots. I have worked with colonies of mice to evaluate proteinuria and, on tissues, performed IHC analysis, qPCR for down-stream genes and western blot. My Key Accomplishments ♦ Developed and deployed single cell suspension technique to manage and study three different animal colonies based on over 60 animals. ♦ Created protocol aimed to produce single cells suspension from kidney glomeruli critical for cell sorting and improved a protocol for primary culture of podocyte in-vitro.

As a Research Technician, I have contributed to successful execution of application to screen 25 microRNAs in human critical limb ischemia (CLI) with research sample size of 50. Planned and controlled budget to secure maximum profitability. I have worked with in-vitro model of ischemia, diabetes and combined those two. I have attained grant by UK Diabetes over £165,754 based on innovative research proposal. My Key Accomplishments ♦ Produced the data for a UK Diabetes grant and for a 3rd price for a poster session based on the screening of 25 microRNAs on a population of 50 human samples.
