I was employed on a temporary contract to develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline and improve the business operations of an innovative and dynamic basketball training organisation.

I was responsible for the support of the Office’s core business system and ensuring the delivery of business benefits to the Sport & Recreation Services division. I analysed user requirements, conducted business analysis and managed projects pertaining to the organisation's business systems including report writing, system development and process improvement.

In my role as the IT Projects Coordinator, I reported to the National IT Manager as part of a small team that provided IT Support for a medium sized law firm of 240 Lawyers, Secretaries and Administrative staff. My responsibilities were divided between managing IT Projects and conducting IT Training, as well as providing backup IT System Administration and User Support to the IT Helpdesk.

I provided hardware and software support to a small branch of 30 Purchasing, Accounts and Technical staff. I provided system support the Department’s procurement and inventory management system (SDSS), including data analysis and reporting. The core software is MIMS, which is an enterprise asset management system provided by MIMCOM. In addition, I was responsible for the administration and reporting of commercial fuel cards within the ADF using the Department’s fuel card management system. I also supervised an assistant and a small team of accounts payable staff.

I was the first point of contact for all hardware and software problems and queries for about 80-100 users. I provided on the job training and arranged formal training for Microsoft and other Defence applications and databases in a Microsoft Windows environment.

I have worked in a number of theatres and cinemas where I mainly performed bar work and ushering duties.

I commenced as a base grade clerk purchasing stores and managing inventory such as naval clothing and general tools using the Department’s Standard Defence Supply System (SDSS). In June 1995 I began long term higher duties as a purchasing supervisor, supervising a team of 3 purchasing officers.

During 14 months in the United Kingdom, I worked full-time as an Accounts Clerk. My duties included airline payment reconciliation in the accounts payable section using computerised systems.
