Working in IT for 20+ years, I've lived plenty of changes, disruptions, trends in the IT industry either in technology or in practices. I've held several positions around IT infrastructure, taking me from the datacenter racks up to the cloud. While I previously mastered rock-solid technologies for virtualization (vmware), servers (microsoft windows) and storage (netapp, emc), I'm now in the (endless) journey of learning cloud (mainly aws) and modern development practice (devops), tryin' to identify early what technology or principle could be a differentiator for the company. **for recruiters, let me share a story that could save you time before reaching out.
