Luis Olmos Camacho

Luis has investigated the regulation and economics of the transmission of electricity both at national and regional (international) level. He has also been involved in analyses for the computation of the optimal development and operation of the transmission grid in a context of large penetration of renewable generation, as well as others focused on the optimal allocation of transmission capacity in regional markets like the European or the Central American ones. His insterests and research activities also concern the determination of the impact of the integration of renewable generation on the functioning of power systems including both their operation and development. He has been involved or managed more than 50 projects for utilities within the electricity sector, as well as other institutions related to this sector including TSOs, energy regulators, national governments, and the European Commission. Luis has written a number of contributions to scientific journals and international conferences related to the abovementioned issues. Luis manages the Master in the Electric Power Industry within the Comillas Pontifical University.

Luis was involved in the technical coordination of several projects for international institutions including the European Commission and European Energy Regulators like the Austrian one.

In June 2000 he graduated in Industrial Engineering with an specialization in Electronics. In May 2006 he got a Ph.D. in industrial engineering. The title of his dissertation was 'The Regulation of the Electricity Transmission Activity in Regional Electricity Markets'.
