Chasetown Civil Engineering Limited is a civil engineering company, who specialise in infrastructure, groundworks and related building services with project values ranging from £50,000 to £10m. I am responsible for post contract quantity surveying on a wide range of Roads, Sewers and Groundworks projects.

Providing Quantity Surveying on a £51 million contract to build new homes in Stafford for soldiers and their families returning from Germany. The contract saw the construction of 346 homes for soldiers based at Beacon Barracks in Stafford with associated Roads, Sewers and remediation works. This contract had the fastest build rate in Europe to date, at circa 15 dwellings per week.

Coni / Mace Interiors - Providing Commercial Management at 5 Brindley Place Birmingham, a project undertaken for Deutsche Bank. No 5 Brindley Place, Birmingham is an 7 storey building containing 134,000 sq ft of office space. The project included the refurbishment to provide shell-and-core, and then full Cat A & B office space. Also Providing Quantity Surveying services for NPower to include aged debt reconciliation, adjudication preparation, and post contract services.

Ibex Interiors, specialist commercial fit out and refurbishment contractor, my role was based in the UK Regions office which spans from the M25 in the south to Manchester in the north. I worked as part of a small team, carrying out quantity surveying duties on projects which vary in value from £100,000 to £4,000,000, and range in contract period from 6 weeks to 35 weeks. My Role begins pre contract where I advise on the contractual risks that may be associated with any proposed contracts for which we are tendering. Post contract I procure all Sub Contract Trades, agreeing and preparing appropriate contractual documentation, together with carrying out valuations, pricing variations and agreeing the final account with the client. I also carry out all cost control and financial reporting of each project, and act as facilitator in Value Engineering workshops to achieve pre and post contract savings. I have also successfully carried out the role of Project Manager on 2 contracts

Friel Construction is a medium sized groundwork's company specialising in the construction of roads, sewers and groundwork's housework's for major house builders. Friel Homes design and build quality schemes from starter homes to luxury dwellings, mostly specialising in retirement complexes and social housing. Outline of Responsibilities: Estimating (including ‘taking off') for tenders received by Friel Construction Post Contract cost control including compiling monthly reports Valuing and certifying payments for sub-contractors Agreement of Final Accounts with Clients Preparation of Bills of Quantities Coaching / training to trainee quantity surveyor Working and liaising with Contract Managers and site staff as part of the building team Compiling feasibility studies on potential sites for Friel Homes Compiling budgets for new Friel Homes Sites

I reported to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and my duties included all post contract quantity surveying works from foundations to handover of a completed dwelling, on social housing projects. Outline of Responsibilities: Management of sub-contractors accounts Cost control including preparation of monthly reports submitted to ‘the board' Working closely with Clients to ensure optimum recovery for works executed Working in accordance with standard contracts e.g. JCT

I commenced my career with this company and reported to the project Quantity Surveyor; I attended University Part Time, whilst learning all aspects of the Quantity Surveyor role.
