The Santa Monica hostel was the largest purpose-built hostel in the U.S. at the time and experienced outstanding reviews and met all performance benchmarks within the national organization. - Represented LA Council at local, national, and international planning meetings and conferences several times a year. - Participated and represented the LA Council in congressional meetings in Washington, DC. - Supported the restructuring of the national Hostelling International organization by voting to consolidate its regional councils into a single national organization based in Washington, DC in 2011. At this time, the LA Council Board was dissolved as the hostels were incorporated into the new national management structure.
