About

The world of immunology is a constellation of cell types and biological processes working in tandem. My endeavour; encourage, nurture and diversify the next generation of scientists!Open to Secondary school, Sixth Form and Undergraduate scientific career talks | Open to Societal Engagement Opportunities | Open to academic/career Mentorship I have been fortunate to be at the forefront of global immunological and clinical trial research. I have experience of using initiative to develop, optimise and standardise experimental assays, both independently and part of a team. I am inspired to take on new challenges, enhancing my skills within immunological and allied research areas. Being exposed to 15 years of Industrial, Academic and Clinical research, I have the impetus and explicit understanding of what is required to be a vital member to a research team. In tandem with my scientific expertise, I champion the nurturing of young scientists via university careers/mentorship talks and explaining science to the public via societal engagement.Key Skills:-15 years’ experience in Industrial/Academic/Clinical trial Research-Extensive experience in Assay Development, Optimisation and Standardisation-Proficient user of Graphpad Prism 10 and FlowJo 11-Extensive experience in a GCLP accredited Labs and Clinical Trials-Contributing author and editor on a peer-reviewed research articles-Career Talks-Featured on societal engagement platforms

Biomedical Science

2008 - 2011 · 3 yrs

By studying a BSc in Biomedical science it has bought to my attention the importance of vertebrates having an integrated immune system. The immune system is a constellation of biological structures working in tandem to remove invasive parasites via unfathomable intricate processes. During my second year of university I undertook an investigation based on 'Malaria and its evolutionary effects on red blood cells' which covered the immunological and genetic aspects of malarial disease. After enjoying the investigation content I progressed further to take the modules: ‘Immunity and Infection’, ‘Clinical immunology’ and ‘Biology of Cancer’ for my final year with my lab based research project on ‘Characterisation of a Plasmoduim Falciparum transport channel’ Final year modules: Biology Of Cancer Immunity and Infection Clinical Immunology Dissertation: The Localisation of the TgCAX Transporter
