I successfully directed the facility through a transition in ownership and created systems in the facility to fulfill corporate reporting responsibilities. I increased the Medicare average daily census by 33% and assured that residents were receiving their full entitlement under the Medicare program by managing both length of stay and therapy utilization. I implemented programs to facilitate the new Public Aid RUGS based reimbursement methodology, resulting in an initial increase of approximately $6.00 per day.

I successfully expanded the subacute unit by 55%. I exceeded both revenue and net operating income (NOI) goals in 2010 (NOI was 13% higher than budgeted) and reduced overtime for direct care staff from over 6% at the beginning of 2010 to less than 2% by the end of the year. I had no resident-focused complaint surveys during 2010, and none to date in 2011. In 2011 the facility had successfully reduced monthly falls to less than 4 per 1000 patient days. I successfully stabilized a 260-bed skilled facility that had experienced a revolving door of Administrators and Directors of Nursing. During that time, I implemented a Cardiac Program, working very closely with the local hospital.
