Lauren Henderson

As an HR Advisor at Hunter St. Hospitality Group, I support over 40 venues by partnering with operational leaders to deliver people-focused initiatives and drive a positive workplace culture. My role spans the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and staff comms. I act as a trusted advisor to managers, provide coaching on HR matters, manage workers’ compensation and return-to-work processes, maintain HR systems, and deliver training programs to build leadership capability and employee engagement.

As a People Experience Coordinator at Merivale, I worked closely with and in support of the People Experience Partners and Senior Partners in the People Operations team to service our headcount of over 5000 employees. My role involved coordinating initiatives, streamlining processes, and enhancing the overall employee experience. Responsibilities included coordination and presentation of monthly inductions for HQ team members, owner of onboarding processes, management of grievance tracker, maintenance of shared inbox, contract and variation creation and distribution and first point of contact support for the group.

At Redlands I worked alongside the P&C Business Partners and Director of P&C to support over 500 employees. My work contributes to the development and maintenance of the HR function and supports the team in providing a comprehensive service to managers and employees at Redlands. Responsibilities included preparation of employment contracts, managing online recruitment and onboarding systems, scheduling interviews, advertising roles, coordinating onboarding and off-boarding processes and generating metrics.

At Scouts I worked with a team of other Macquarie University students, to research the value of non-formal education for various stakeholders. Personally, I focused my research on employers to better understand how a participation in non-formal education may influence the recruitment process.
