Materials Management Specialist
Managed over 2,000 component parts from 70 Suppliers on a daily basis using JDE MRP. Managed 11 Asian suppliers totaling 200 parts. Ordered over 200 Finished Goods Products from 14 suppliers using Supply & Demand report and knowledge of the customer drop in demand. Reduced on hand inventory significantly by aggressively reducing safety stock and managing box quantities with suppliers and looking at obsolete inventory and common parts that may be used in same assemblies manufactured. Successfully managed between 10 to 15 cost out projects on an ongoing basis. Used problem solving skills to get to the root cause of inventory discrepancy issues, part flow issues, and supplier delivery issues. Worked closely with the planning department to assure part availability to meet customer demand. Worked closely with the receiving department and the production line on issues. Material Control Analyst (2002 - 2003) Managed a wide variety of tasks, including but not limited to Departmental Supermarket Maintenance, Material Flow, and Engineering Change Coordination. Reviewed data and reacted appropriately to resolve issues. Provided feedback and follow-up on part shortages to appropriate Production Planner and/or Material Management Specialist. Coordinated with other Material Control Analysts and material Handlers to assure material flow. Monitored and helped control inventory for new product development products and obsolete products.
