Kirill Bersuker

I am a prolific researcher in the San Francisco Bay Area with expertise in ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation and the biology of cell death. During my post-doctoral work, I published a seminal study in Nature describing a key regulator of a cell death pathway known as ferroptosis (~3000 citations in 5 years). At Calico Life Sciences, I have gained extensive experience in the following areas: - Investigated MOA of lethal compounds using functional genomic screens, in vitro enzymatic assays, MS metabolite analysis, proteomics, and time lapse microscopy assays - Assembled a team and led a project that investigated mechanisms of PROTAC dependent protein degradation within a pre-clinical drug development program (corresponding author on publication accepted in Nature communications) - Initiated and led pre-clinical research efforts on two oncology targets
