Design and delivery of wire mesh capacitive touch sensor screens to customer electrical and mechanical specifications. Over 25 touch sensors delivered to major system manufacturers in 2016-2017.

Started with Sirf in 2003 when it was a small start-up. Led the VLSI team that developed the highly successful SirfStarIII GPS (global positioning) chip in 2003 which took a major share of the consumer GPS device market. Used in popular GPS devices from Tom Tom, Garmin, and others. The success of the chip led to SiRF’s IPO in 2004 and also won PC magazine’s award for technical excellence in 2006. Later at SiRF led a team of about 70 hardware, software, and systems engineers located in US, Europe, and India developing a multi-CPU SOC. Built up and ran a VLSI design group in Noida, India.

Led an ASIC design engineering team. Notable accomplishments included delivery of a 10 GB/sec Serdes and a Northbridge chip for Apple.

Leading SOC development of Sigma Sense's advanced, high sensitivity touch technology. Collaborate closely with systems and algorithm teams to develop innovative and cost effective solutions. Directly responsible for chip specifications, project scoping, architecture definition, design implementation, verification, silicon validation, package selection and transfer to production. My responsibilities include project planning, project staffing, engagement with design services companies, IP providers, ASIC fab and test house.

Led R&D in a variety of touch technologies such as Projected Capacitive, Surface Acoustic Wave, Infrared, Resistive, and others. Development of advanced algorithms and system architectures, and their implementation in mixed signal ASICs and embedded systems with focus on continuously improving user touch experience.

Focussed on digital video processing products for Ultra High Def TV (4K) and Home Cinema Theaters. Led a multi-disciplinary engineering team developing Algorithms, Systems, and ASICs. Deployed a new paradigm of validating Systems First based on virtual silicon iterations prior to committing to expensive ASIC development. Successfully mapped final virtual silicon to company's first physical silicon. Chip delivered in 6 months from kick-off to tape out. First tape out fully functional and had design wins in products sold through distributors.
