Controller Responsible for budgeting and forecasting for a company with yearly revenues of approximately $35 million. Performed monthly analysis of financial package for the president and corporate including commentaries on current business trends and opportunities. Led and approved month end closing generating segmented P&L, Balance Sheet, Inventory Reporting and other performance measurements by the second workday of the month. Responsible for establishing and implementing policies and procedures, to ensure internal control and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404. Provided hands-on leadership for a team of two; one senior accountant and an accounting assistant. Oversaw General Ledger entries, A/R, A/P, Cost Accounting, Payroll and Fixed Assets (FAS). Provided guidance to all departments helping to identify problems and determine solutions to simplify business flow using lean principles and the 80/20 philosophy.
