Manager of operations for CMA-CGM & Ocean Alliance vessels, my responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks including managing day-to-day operations of the United States East Coast (USEC) ports New York, New Jersey, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, Miami & Brunswick, aiming to ensure efficient operations, minimize costs & maintaining the highest standards of safety & performance to provide excellent customer service for the respected clients. Key functions: 1. Directing & coordinating marine operations for container ships & recently acquired RORO vessels (PCTC) & preparing Coastal Schedules. 2. Collaborating with terminals, stevedores, Longshoreman (ILWU), planners & agents to coordinate union labors, cranes, tugs, pilots, keeping in mind the draft, air draft, stability, tidal windows limitations. 3. Facilitating vessel inspections (CBP, USCG, Class Surveys, Cargo Surveys), bunkering, attending vendors & crew-related matters. 4. Timely communication with masters/captains to optimize fuel consumption / reduce Carbon emission by determining Best & Most Eco Speed ETA. 5. Validating & approving operation-related invoices. Striving to minimize costs by avoiding detentions, labor standby time & overtime. 6. Ensuring vessel productivity & detention are closely monitored during operations & holding terminals & stevedores accountable for performance, post-operation recaps to ensure all costs are properly covered. 7. Providing cost/freight estimations for specialized projects like break bulk, yachts, hazardous cargo (DG), Reefer & OOG. 8. Attending vessels in port to oversee smooth operations & perform Port Captain duties when required. 9. Utilizing, & regularly updating maritime & supply chain-related software such as MACS3, BAPLIE, LARA, PRS, I-CUT OFF, & ship tracking software. 10. Attending routine/Teams' meetings with other managers, HO, terminals, stevedores, & stake holders to address latest challenges & to find solutions.
