Keith Turpin

As the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at The Friedkin Group, my role requires me to collaborate closely with IT leaders across a diverse collection of companies, all with unique priorities, regulatory landscapes, and risk profiles. The Friedkin Group has a large number of companies operating across a wide range of sectors and an annual revenue of over 13 billion. My responsibilities cover all aspects of cyber security including security governance, risk management, incident response, cloud security, network security, access management, supply chain security, vulnerability management, security assessments, and security awareness programs. Previously, I served 5 years as CISO and Head of Global Infrastructure at industry leading, aviation services company, Universal Weather and Aviation. While there I enhanced cyber security frameworks and IT delivery across 50+ international locations. My 18 year tenure at The Boeing Company, as a Technical Fellow, saw me leading crucial areas of the cyber security program including International IT Security Operations, Software Security, IT Risk Management and Supply Chain Security. I started out my career at Boeing as a senior manufacturing engineer overseeing manufacturing process improvements for the 747, but eventually moved on to managing engineering IT systems, before transitioning to cyber security. My work has earned notable recognition, including: • CSO Magazine: CSO50 Innovative Projects Award 2025 • CISO Hall of Fame inductee 2024 • Cyber Defense Magazine: Top 100 CISOs 2024 • Houston Large Enterprise CISO of the Year 2024 • Forbes Magazine: Most Cybersecure Companies in the U.S. 2023 I served the cyber security industry in several roles including as a former U.S. delegate to the International Standards Organization's Committee on Cyber Security, two years as the Transportation Sector Chief for the Houston FBI InfraGard program, and Global Projects Committee leader for the Open Web Application Security Project. As a seasoned speaker, I've shared insights at leading industry forums including Blackhat, Hacker Halted, AppSec USA, SANS National Oil & Gas Cyber Security Summit, the Association for Supply Chain Management National Conference and the International Aviation Cyber Security Summit, to name a few. I'm a proud graduate of the FBI CISO Academy at Quantico. I hold the following professional certifications CISSP, CSSLP, CRISC, and NSA Certified Infosec Assessor. My education includes MS in Computer System and a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
