About

As an (mostly nonprofit-)entrepreneur, a researcher and a futures thinker, my work has always been about exploring the future with one leg in innovation & strategy, and another in fiction and imaginaries. I am currently running a major project called the Plurality University Network: an open, global, diverse network that connects people or organizations who mobilize the resources of the imaginary to broaden the scope of thinkable futures. Between 2000 and 2016, I was the founder and CEO of the Next Generation Internet Foundation (FING - www.fing.org), a collective and open Research and Development project which focuses on tomorrow's Internet's uses, applications and services. From January 2013 to July 2017, I sat in France's National Digital Council (CNNum). As a former member of the European Commission's e-Europe's Experts Chamber, of the French Prime Minister’s Strategic Advisory Board on Information Technologies (CSTI), as well as the board of the French Chapter of the Internet Society, I have been deeply involved in the Internet’s development and evolution. I have written or directed more than 25 books that bridge futures thinking, technology, innovation and societal issues: cities, identity, trust, ecology, work… Latest books and reports in English: "Cities as Open Innovation Platforms" (Fyp Editions, 2009), “Digital Privacy and Active Identities" (Fyp Editions, 2010), "Digital Disruptions" (online, 2013).
