Joshua Yang
Leader of Korean Student Association (KSA) Creative Team @ School of the Art Institute of Chicago
About
Joshua Yang (he/him) is a Chicago-based artist and photographer who focuses on time—not as a concept we can hold, but as something that keeps moving, quietly shaping who we become. He pays attention to what slips past: the in-between moments, the ordinary days, the seconds that feel too small to remember until they’re gone.Working primarily with long exposure technique, Joshua gathers traces of duration—light, movement, breath, and waiting—allowing time to appear as an image rather than a measurement. He extends these records beyond the camera, translating them into books, prints, and material experiments that give fleeting moments a physical presence.Over the past three years, he has exhibited and collaborated with artists and spaces, including the Hyde Park Art Center, the Kumho Museum of Art, and the SoNa Art Gallery. This website is an invitation to step into the time he has lived through—moments collected, held, and shared.
