Database Administration Duties: Primary DBA support for DB2/VM aka SQL/DS which include: database recovery, object maintenance, performance monitoring, problem resolution, Data Administrator and customer support, implementing logical designs changes. Product support for vendor and in-house products and tools. Create and maintain Cobol extract programs to provide data for EOM Ad-Hoc database refresh jobs. Accomplishments: Reorganized 4.5 gigabyte ad-hoc corporate database, upgraded the RDBMS software version several times. Created tools to automate many of the standard DBA and data administrator functions. Assisted with monthly extracts (creation, load and maintenance).

Systems Development Duties: Provide DBA support for 2 HP-UX servers running MSI LeasePak application. Create and enhance maintenance scripts as necessary. Provide technical assistance and training to developers. Accomplishments: Applied several ASE patches, assisted with creation and testing of a 3-tier environment based on ASE 11.9.2 and LeasePak version 4.2. Rebuild development server to recover over 3 GB of unused disk space. Created tools that are used to delete old data, maintain optional index clustering and perform other regular maintenance tasks.

Primary DBA for the Customer Relationship system built on Power Builder and Sybase ASE for Ohio Bank One Branches. Accomplishments: Installed Sybase System 10 and 11 on over 15 UNIX (HP and AIX) hosts. Created set of UNIX shell files to perform regular maintenance tasks. Primary DBA for all database changes on HP/AIX servers. Upgraded 6 HP UNIX 10.0.2.7 servers to 11.0.2.2. Worked with Unix SA to plan and execute server swaps with no client impact.
