About
I dream big. I’m deeply passionate about helping others achieve their dreams—and I’ve spent nearly four decades doing just that. I see connections others might miss, assemble the right people and resources, and bring ideas to life through purpose-driven action. For 25 years at State Farm, I worked on large, complex software systems, leading teams through the evolution from mainframes to the internet, mobile, and cloud. I helped earn the company its first software patent and played a lead role in prototyping many of its early mobile apps. My time at the State Farm Research and Development Center in the University of Illinois Research Park was especially fulfilling—we hired over 500 interns in five years, peaking at 92 in a single summer, making State Farm the largest employer of students on campus. In 2013, I transitioned into higher education, directing innovation and entrepreneurship programs at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. There, I collaborated with more than 1,000 exceptional students and a vast network of alumni, faculty, and corporate partners including Abbott, Caterpillar, Walmart, John Deere, Boeing, Anheuser-Busch, bp, Microsoft, Synchrony, Motorola Solutions, T-Mobile, eBay, Uber, Capital One, Google, Facebook, Tesla, and more. . I also served as Site Executive-in-Residence for the Research Park, advising companies on how to build, operate, and scale innovation centers that work. Most recently, I led the development of The Petrick Idea Center at Illinois Wesleyan University, a $17M interdisciplinary innovation hub opening in 2026. I focused on advancing experiential, cross-disciplinary learning: supporting student ventures, hands-on makerspaces, K–12 outreach, seed funding competitions for college and high school students, and both domestic and international immersion experiences that deepened students’ understanding of entrepreneurship in a global context. While I’ve stepped away from full-time work, I haven’t stepped away from purpose. If you’re building something meaningful—with students, with community, or with vision—I’d love to connect.
