During my time at Thompson, my role has transitioned into a more developer centric one. I still design however I am more concentrated on the development side of things, creating new standards and processes for development within Thompson and taking on more responsibility in that side of the business. I specialise in creative development, creating fun experiences and developing creative solutions on the web, being involved in both front and back-end. This has now been recognised by a change of job title.

As the principle UI/UX designer and front end developer, I have designed and built the front end to a large application for multiple platforms including mobile and tablet, focusing on targeted interactions, delivering measurable data in a bespoke format, and giving users a simple and effective way to engage. From presentation and Photoshop mock-ups to JavaScript and JQuery interactive pages I have delivered a large range of items whilst increasing my own experience and knowledge in the process

I have created a number of bespoke websites from design to build for a range of different clients, Conceptualizing ideas, providing initial designs for the client and following through and creating complete and original WordPress templates.

I started as a receptionist at Castle, however after a foray into the web, I delivered graphics for print and web along with a system to allow applicant to apply online and Castle to receive an application in CV format from a set form via email.

As a Digital Designer for PureNet my responsibilities primarily revolve around designing eCommerce websites both small and large. From homepages to checkout processes I am responsible for creating designs for all pages of websites and providing consultation and design work on detailed user journeys and interfaces. I also often work on the front end development of websites primarily using html, css and JavaScript, with some work in php using wordpress including being tasked with the responsibility of the new company website design and build. The company also depends on me for the creation of responsive html emails that can be viewed across all devices.

I designed and developed small business websites for Divario's clients. I also advised on Social Media for clients and designed Divario's print media.

Over my three year course I gradually focused my course assignments to designing and building user interfaces, with my final project and dissertation investigation the effect a WYSIWYG page edit tool would have on usability and engagement for web admins.
