Joe Goolsby

I don’t think many people grow up dreaming of working in insurance; I certainly didn’t. But, after 20 years in the industry, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. What I’ve found is a profession that allows me to help people in a time of need and to develop honest, authentic relationships that, in many cases, go beyond just work. Bringing solutions to policyholders and to the wonderful people I work with is what gets me out of bed every day. In my role at Trustmark Voluntary Benefits, I often feel my job is to listen. I listen to the needs of broker, communication firms and employer partners as well as the needs of employees, then take a problem-solving approach to help craft benefit solutions. From benefit selection, to communications, billing processes and benefits administration I believe in developing holistic programs to meet clients’ needs. When I’m not working, you can find me at home with my wife, 3 kids and our dog. Whenever possible, we try to be outdoors and staying active!
