I spent over 25 years in the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund (from 1984 to 2009). As Assistant General Counsel, I had principal responsibility for advising the IMF on issues arising out of the internal management and administration of the IMF, including the legal aspects of human resources policies and the employment framework, standards of conduct for personnel and the associated investigative and disciplinary process, and internal dispute resolution, including representing the organization in cases before the IMF Administrative Tribunal.

I serve as Chair of the Appeals Commission of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Geneva. I am also a consultant to international organizations on internal governance issues, including the legal framework for the administration of staff (e.g., personnel policies, conduct and disciplinary matters, and dispute resolution). Expertise and 25+ years' experience in international administrative law and the rules applicable to the international civil service, including the handling of cases before an international administrative tribunal.
