1. Provide internal scale-up and process optimization support to meet non-GMP drug substance manufacturing. 2. Prepare Technology Transfer documents for the preparation of drug substances by outside Contract Research Organization. 3. Design and execute new synthetic routes and procedures for the preparation of drug intermediates and final drug substance.

1. Route scouting and process development of intermediates and APIs: development of cost-efficient and green manufacturing processes. 2. Development of robust crystallization process for lab to manufacturing scale. 3. Development of flow chemistry techniques for small molecule synthesis.

Research advisor: Prof. Jon D. Rainier 1. Development of photoelectrocyclization and [2 + 2] photocycloaddition reactions of amidoquinones and their applications in the synthesis of marcanine A, griffithazanone A, discorhabdin Z and ansalactam A. 2. Development of continuous flow chemistry for photochemistry. 3. Development of aza-anthraquinones as antibacterial reagents.

1. Pre-formulation physical chemical studies (stability, solubility, compatibility, etc.) of APIs. 2. Formulation preparation (tablets, delayed release capsules, etc.) and analysis including tests for dissolution profiles.
