About
Hi, my name is Jessica! I’ve been referred to as a “sponge” (although I can’t say I wear square pants) – I enjoy soaking up any environment I’m thrown in and learning as much as I can while there. Over the last seven years, I’ve discovered the project management and operations environment is one where I thrive. As someone who gets true enjoyment from creating to-do lists and developing plans for all aspects of my life, it was thrilling and motivating to learn that there’s a role where I can devote my time and efforts to budgeting, planning, resourcing, and crafting processes to help my team succeed. In my previous role, I ensured team members were allocated to their strengths while also taking personal preference into consideration; developed a monthly staffing schedule within Shiftboard that adhered to the projects’ and clients’ demands; facilitated cross-functional collaboration across several projects at once; managed company-wide workload and project status with Asana; and enjoyed serving as not only the team’s representative but also as their cheerleader. At the start of March 2022, I made the difficult decision to leave my full-time job to pursue a workplace that aligns with my values and priorities. I’m aiming to have my day-to-day filled with camaraderie, exciting problems, space for innovation, and a team that loves to break things. I recently watched Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond on Netflix and this moment with Jim Carrey really struck me: “You can fail at what you don’t love, so you might as well do what you love.” What I truly love to do is bring clarity amongst the chaos. I love taking something that feels impossible and breaking it into pieces that are possible. I love sitting down with a team to build out a plan or process that gets everyone excited. I love the journey and process you go through to learn something new. I love creating environments that leave you feeling supported, encouraged, & capable of doing great things. I'm open to full-time positions, and I've also begun contract work, focusing on project management, operations, and technical documentation. Additionally, I'm experienced in developing onboarding programs for new hires, determining tool needs across organizations, and helping teams adopt tools such as Asana, Everhour, Shiftboard, and ClickUp. When I’m not working, I enjoy baking way too many chocolate chip cookies or road-tripping across the US with my husband and three kiddos. I’m more than happy to connect (and maybe share a cookie or two) if you’d like to talk and learn more!
