Manages the programs and staff of the respiratory therapy department; including in-patient therapy, pulmonary rehab, pulmonary function testing, outpatient sleep studies and clinic respiratory therapy. Develop and implement respiratory care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Monitor patient progress and treatment plans. Expand patient services under the pulmonary service line in coordination with the Stillwater Medical Group Clinic and Lakeview Hospital. Facilitate a monthly ALA Better Breather's Support Group as well as volunteer time as an ALA Freedom from Smoking Group Facilitator.

1. Responsible for pulmonary rehab program development. 2. Coordinate pre-screening, exercise pre-testing and post-testing, exercise training components of the program. 3. Implementation of individualized treatment plans based on patient abilities. 4. Communication with medical director and rehabilitation team members to evaluate the patient’s progress, review problems, establish a discharge plan and make recommendations for continued care. 5. Coordinate and facilitate ongoing patient education. 6. Follow guidelines and documentation requirements for reimbursement. 7. Perform ongoing marketing of program services to maintain sound referral base.

Lead a board of 30 volunteers with fundraising, event planning, community awareness and event coordination. Negotiate contracts with vendors for event space, modify event budgets and report earnings to executive staff. Recruit board members, sponsors, donors and promote SafeJourney with public presentations. Increased net profit for annual fundraising event each year since 2008. Total net proceeds of $195,000. Assisted with expanding SafeJourney services to Maple Grove Hospital in 2010.

Test, treat and provide care to those with pulmonary difficulties. Ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring. Trauma activations with intubation assistance. Code team and Rapid Response member, ACLS and NRP certified. Pulmonary testing, medication evaluation and treatment protocols. Coordinate care with nursing and physicians on behalf of patients. Manage high stress situations while providing effective care to patients. Assist with training new staff members, interview panel for a new manager hire.
